The Dream Catcher is a Family-Owned and Operated 3-Story Antiques and Collectibles Group Shop with Over 80 Vendors!!!
The store was started in 2004 as a small doll shop by myself and my eldest son, Jared. At that point, it was more of a hobby of mine. In 2009, my husband Tom and I decided to branch out and create a small group shop in Holden, ME, gathering vendors and collectors from all around the area. After being there for 2 years and running out of space for our vendors, we decided to move the shop to a larger, more permanent location in our hometown of Ellsworth, ME. We purchased the 15,000 square foot building, renovated and restored it to its original beauty, and held a Grand Opening on April 1st, 2011. With its high ceilings, hard wood floors, and beautiful grand stair case, the H.C. Austin Building, built in 1933 after the Great Fire, is one of Ellsworth's largest, most stunning, and historic buildings. So, when I saw the Austin Building for sale, I knew it was the right building for us. A great location, beautiful, spacious, and literally perfect for an Antique Mall. After a discussion with my family, we decided to purchase and renovate the building.
In the future, The Dream Catcher will passed on to my two sons, Jared & Isaiah. Jared is married with two children and is practicing as a pharmacist in Gilford, New Hampshire. Isaiah is currently studying psychology at Husson University in Bangor, ME. Thank you for your business and support, ~ Karen Owner and Operator of The Dream Catcher |
